About Love Dem Apples
Who are Love Dem Apples?
We're Joe and Jess, the duo behind Love Dem Apples. We've spent over 10 years perfecting the soft, chewy caramel apple in Australia before bringing it to Auckland in November 2025. Every apple is made by us, using our own homemade caramel recipe.
What's the difference between a caramel apple and a toffee apple?
A traditional toffee apple has a hard, glassy sugar shell that cracks when you bite it. Our caramel apples are coated in a soft, chewy homemade caramel that's rich and buttery, then rolled in toppings like pretzels, cookies & cream, sprinkles or chocolate. Not a toffee apple. Better.
What apples do you use?
We use crisp, tart Granny Smith apples. Their sharpness is the perfect balance for our sweet caramel and toppings, and they stay crunchy right to the core.
What makes your caramel apples and apple fries unique?
Our gourmet caramel apples are dipped fresh, coated in silky homemade caramel and finished with indulgent toppings. Our hot apple fries are one-of-a-kind in New Zealand: crispy battered apple slices, topped with cream and a warm caramel drizzle. They're theatrical, indulgent and unforgettable.
What caramel apple flavours do you have?
Our range is split into The Classics (Toasted Coconut, Salted Caramel Pretzel, Sprinkles), The Choc Edit (Apple Pie, Snickers, Cookies & Cream) and our Signature Favourites (Bueno, Peanut Butter Pretzel). We also release limited-edition seasonal flavours for Halloween and Christmas.
Freshness, storage and dietary
How long do caramel apples last?
Caramel apples last about 3 weeks in the fridge and 4–5 days at room temperature. Because the apples aren't cooked before dipping, they stay fresh and crisp when you bite into them.
What's the best way to eat a caramel apple?
Eat it straight off the stick for the full experience, or slice it into wedges with a sharp knife to share. If it's been in the fridge, let it sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes so the caramel softens.
Are your caramel apples gluten-free or vegan?
Our base caramel apple is naturally gluten-free, but some toppings contain gluten, so always ask us for gluten-free options. Our traditional caramel contains dairy, and we're testing vegan options so everyone can enjoy a Love Dem Apples treat. Our take-home apple crumble is available in a gluten-free and vegan version.
Do your caramel apples contain nuts?
Some of our flavours contain peanuts or tree nuts, including Snickers, Peanut Butter Pretzel and Bueno. All our apples are made in the same kitchen, so if you have a severe allergy, please talk to us before ordering.
Do you make everything fresh at the markets?
Yes. Our caramel apples are dipped right in front of you, our apple fries are fried to order, and our cider is served piping hot. Part of the magic is watching your treat come to life.
