Remember the toffee apples you used to get at the school fete? Well these aren’t them. Love Dem Apples, of Bondi and Glebe Markets fame, have opened up shop on Cleveland Street in Surry Hills, selling a range of tasty caramel apples. With flavours like Apple Pie, Cherry Ripe, Oreo, and Fraggle Rock, they’re bringing the humble apple to a whole new level.
First, they select perfectly crisp and tart apples and after giving them a little bath to clean them up, they’re ready for the fun stuff—the toppings! Love Dem Apples make their caramel in small batches every day to ensure they have the right consistency for every apple. One by one, each apple is dipped in caramel and then rolled around in all manner of toppings to create a decadent treat that we like to convince ourselves are somewhat healthy (apples, right?!).
